Cool….this was only the 2nd time I had used my camcorder (new HD cam) so I really erred on being under so the audio wouldn’t be ruined.
I used the camera for the first time at a Flatfoot show in Harrisburg, PA last month and the audio is totally blown out and useless. I didn’t want the same thing to happen so I kept it real low on purpose this time.
Not ideal but better than having audio that’s no good. And now I know I can go a fair bit higher next time I record a show.
Yep. Twas me. Low, really? Mine were peaking high. I had to adjust the audio in Audacity to keep it from clipping. I just wish the stage lighting was better. Ottobar is so dark with that one bright light in the center. Makes it impossible to balance the levels.
Hey man, are you the guy in the sound booth that stood in front of me at the show? Haven’t done anything with my video yet but I know my sound levels were wayyyyyy low.
Yeah, he really is a good bloke. Talked to him quite a bit at a BBQ at Sab’s place before the show. He’s really up on technology. It did surprise me that he had quit drinking but I respect his will power. He was really in command on stage and he and the band sounded amazing. It was one of the best shows I’ve seen in recent memory. If being stone cold sober makes you sound like that – it’s worth it! Oi!
