Imagine Nova Scotia without Small Business

Did you know that 93% of businesses in Nova Scotia have fewer than 20 employees? Or that self-employment in Nova Scotia is at its highest level ever? These are just a few facts that speak to the importance of small business. Business owners should feel important, but you’ve told us you feel overwhelmed and underappreciated. Some of you wonder why you started a business in the first place. That got us thinking: can you imagine Nova Scotia without small business? We’d have no businesses that reflect who we are as a province, tens of thousands of people would be out of a job, and countless sports teams and local charities would be without leaders and supporters. And that’s just a start. That’s not the Nova Scotia we want to live in. Small business needs a lifeline. We’re raising awareness of the importance of small business and we’re asking government to let small businesses know how much they matter by: – Lowering HST when the budget is balanced. – Indexing personal income tax —as government promised five years ago. – Outlining a long-term tax plan to improve Nova Scotia’s business competitiveness. – Restraining government spending to population growth plus inflation.

Being tired can be forgiven by most people if workers are getting paid what they deserve for the job at hand.. You can strive to fix the economy all you want. To us…It’s another meaningless promise/ bullshit story. We do not have confidence in you anymore. We look at you as thieves. Try to fix that. Thanks in advance.
